Plantation Christian School FAQs:
Where is your office?
Our office is located in Milpitas, California.
Is Plantation Christian School affiliated with any
other organizations?
Yes; we are members of Assocation of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and National Coalition of Alternative Community Schools (NCACS).
Is Plantation Christian School accredited?
No. Most accrediting organizations only accredit schools with campuses. We don't have a campus.
Has this ever been a problem?
No.
Plantation Christian School graduates have been accepted to many colleges and into the armed forces.
Doesn't the state of California accredit private schools?
No. There are private agencies which do so, but the state does not. The state also does not license private schools.
Is Plantation Christian School a legal program?
Our legal advisors consider our program to be a legal option for parents in California who wish to teach their children at home. However, each state has different
laws pertaining to home education, so it may not be a legal option in another state, even though we provide certain helpful services. The same is true for all correspondence or satellite schools. A few states do allow
families to choose specific correspondence schools as an option for homeschooling. Parents should check with their own state homeschooling associations or with the Home School Legal Defense Association.
If it's not a legal option, what's the point?
Plantation Christian School provides a framework for homeschooling families: we keep formal cumulative records, provide recordkeeping forms (quarterly journals and
report cards), help parents meet the requirements in their states, and issue high school diplomas and transcripts. We interact with school officials, if necessary. We also have student and faculty cards and school t-shirts and
sweatshirts; we make recommendations for textbooks and other teaching materials; we provide every family with a handbook and a planning calendar; and we publish a newsletter to inform and encourage.
Many parents appreciate
having someone to come along side them in their homeschooling endeavors (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10). Our goal is to help parents to accomplish the good work God wants to do in their children.
